Site measure & installation process

We want to make sure your windows, doors and screens are measured, made and installed with care — so they look great and last for years to come. Here’s how the process works when we’re doing the installation.

Before the site measure

Before we come out to measure, we’ll need a few things in place. Your window and door openings need to be prepped and clear, sill bricks should be installed (ask your bricklayer), and raked ceilings need to be finished (if relevant). You also need to confirm what kind of external cladding you’ll be using, and if you’re having any rendering or plastering done, let us know the timing.

We’ll then lock in a date for the site measure, usually within two weeks.

Measure & manufacture.

We’ll visit the site to take precise measurements of each opening so your frames will be made to fit perfectly. Once we’ve measured up, we get started building your custom frames. This usually takes a few weeks, depending on what’s in the queue.

Frame installation.

We’ll return to install your window and door frames on the agreed day. If you’ve got an upper storey or sloping site, we might need scaffolding or a hoist — don’t worry, we’ll talk this through with you beforehand.

Glazing (glass install).

Once the frames are in, we come back to install the glass. Same deal — if there’s any tricky access, we’ll work with you to make sure it’s sorted ahead of time.

Finishing touches.

We’ll fit any final trims and pressings, install your flyscreens, and make sure everything’s good to go. No fuss, no surprises — just a quality job, done right by the team at Toodyay Glass.
